This decorative suite of nine paintings was commissioned for the architectural wall panels of the North Gallery in Glyndor House at Wave Hill in New York City and installed there over the summer of 2008. Rendering the natural world, my layered method of painting is intended to evoke a sense of memory and the passage of time, and the translucent, light and airy appearance of the paintings is integral to these ideas. As an immersive cycle it was a response to the gardens of this estate together with fragments of pattern, textiles and fashion, figures and text: a poeticized imagining of liminal space.
